I worked with Ruthy at Goodyear.  She was always a pleasant and friendly person.  Right before her retirement she spoke of the traveling she wanted to do. I hope she was able to do this.  Condolence to Ruthy's family and friends. 

It must be over ten years ago when Ruthy and Joe once accompanied me to Houston Chinese Culture Center to borrow some traditional costumes.  The staff in charge appeared to be quite disinterested and slow to respond, that was, until Ruthy started chatting with her.  Pretty soon, she smiled and did a 180 in her attitude.  This anecdote occurred to me as I recall what a charismatic person my friend Ruthy was.  She was energetic, articulate, and always willing to help.  For years, a group of Beaumont friends had a weekly mahjong game, and the highlight of the evening was tasting Ruthy’s ever changing yet always delicious home-made goodies.  When we took a cruise together, Ruthy was the one who booked the photo session and got everybody to show up on time.  When she and Joe introduced me to ballroom dancing, she would pick me up for the evening class even though she had just got off work an hour ago.  Dan and I are so fortunate, humbled and touched by her time with us.  And I know Ruthy was a friend to many.  Her positivity was an inspiration for everyone she met.  We will all miss her everyday!

There are no words that can adequately describe how sad and sorrowful we are for Ruthy's passing.  Our deepest condolences.  Ruthy is with God now, no more suffering, may she rest in peace.  The pain of losing a loved one will not cease, I hope you can find some comfort at this extremely difficult time remembering all the great time you spent together with Ruthy and also knowing that she's so deeply loved by so many she touched on.  Ruthy's like the ray of sunshine whenever she went there was joy, fun, yummy food and laughter!  Not just to your family, she also made a remarkable impact on so many lives, her kindness and caring touched so many hearts and souls.  It's a huge loss that Ruthy is no longer with us but Ruthy had a wonderful life, she married the love of her life, a wonderful and devoted husband Joe, raised two amazing exceptional children Annie and Allen and had a supported son-in-law Gary plus two adorable grandchildren Emma and Brady.  We are so lucky to be part of your extended family, I still remember Thanksgiving 2004 the first time two families met, two dragon moms and two rabbit dads all migrated from Taiwan, we had so much fun.  I will forever cherish two months Ruthy and I bonded like sisters at Vasquez ave, we worried together before and after Annie's pregnancy with Twins.  Ruthy must be so happy to see Emma and Brady visit her in August.  On September 15, Wednesday's morning, I was so taken by the sadness of thinking of Ruthy that I was not able to control myself from crying. I didn't even know she passed away in her sleep that morning.  Ruthy will forever live in our memories.  Please be strong and take good care. 

We had known Ruthy for a very short time in our 55+ community. We remember joe and Ruthy are a very lovely couple. Joe held Ruthy’s arm tight walking around our community lake in an effort to keep Ruthy healthy. We saw Ruthy walked on a treadmill in our community gym while Joe patiently assisted her. Those are the sweet memories will always stay. Ruthy Rest In Peace. We know your loving family will always remember you.

Joe, Annie and Allen my prayers and and love for the family are with you as you adjust to the loss of Ruthie, a rock in the family for sure.  My wife Jackie and I first visited with your family in Wichita way back in the late 1990's and for sure were treated like royalty, later in Beaumont, well just let me say I love Joe and Ruthy like brother and sister.  Now Ruthy has gone on before us to meet our Lord, it is my experience that it is in him that you can find comfort and direction in this most difficult time.  When we lost Jackie Joe you and Ruthie were there for me, together we have had some great times  and we can honor them both with more good times.

Dear Joe, Annie and Allen, 
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.  Your loss meant so much to us especially since within 11 days we lost two loving members of the Chao family.  May they both Rest In Peace.  My father presided over Joe and Ruthy’s wedding  and  from the pictures my parents saved,  they cherished watching your family grow over the years, they are so proud of your whole family,  and Ruthy was an important pillar of the family.
