

Samuel Bordelon was born August 24, 1951 in Orange, Texas to Joseph Earl & Mary Elizabeth Bordelon. After a lengthy illness he went to be with the Lord on September 5, 2015 at 4:31pm at Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
Samuel was a graduate of Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. For a short period he worked in the public education system but eventually decided to have a career in the chemical industry. In 2009, Samuel retired from Dow Chemical as a Shift Supervisor with 30 years of service.
He was a faithful member of Mission Bend United Methodist Church where he was a member of the choir. After retirement he volunteered for two years at the Mission Bells Food Panty. Samuel was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and an avid sports fan. Football was his favorite sport and the Houston Texans was his favorite team. He frequently said that he was a dedicated fan at all times, not just when his team is winning.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Earl and Mary Elizabeth Bordelon. He leaves to morn his wife of over 30 years Sandra J. Bordelon, 3 daughters Zhovonne Bordelon, Felicia Jones, Cherrise Jackson (Steven), two sons Darius C. Jones and Clayton Calup, Jr., a brother Joseph Earl Bordelon, Jr. (Jonnie), 12 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to express special thanks to Sarah Shearer, MD, Gwendolyn Warren Williams, RN, The Museum District Dialysis Center, Rosenberg Dialysis Center, the physicians, nurses and other staff of Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital, Pastors Josh & Christie Hale, Pastor Hilda Marcel and the members of Mission Bend United Methodist Church who have prayed for and supported us in every way during his illness and death.
