Samuel Olorunfemi David Olorunjuwon Olorunsogo age 32, passed away on January 6, 2024. Family, friends and colleagues may have known him as “Femi, Sam, David, Dee, or Juwon”. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. We are truly devastated by his loss.
Samuel was born on December 26, 1991 in Houston, Texas to his Nigerian parents Princess Foluke Ademiluyi and Otunba Oluremi Olorunsogo. He was the only son, the light and joy of his family.
He spent his formative years with his siblings in his father’s hometown Ibadan, Nigeria before relocating back to Houston at the age of 10. He attended Sacred Heart Primary School in Ibadan, Nigeria, then completed the rest of elementary school at the Academy of Houston. He then went on to attend Welch Middle School and the Girls and Boys Preparatory Academy for high school.
Samuel started working in his early teenage years to support himself and his mother. He worked at H-E-B grocery while he furthered his studies at Houston Community College. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Sam Houston State University in May 2016, and later became a successful entrepreneur. He was the Founder and CEO of A.M.G Creations, a logistic company, in 2018. Prior to his passing, Samuel was managing A.M.G Creations and also enrolled in an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas Arlington with an expected graduation date of December 2024. Throughout his life, Samuel was known for his hard work, grit, drive, work ethic, dedication, and passion for helping others.
But more than anything, Samuel was a devoted family man. He loved and cherished his wife, children, parents, sisters, nephews, nieces, grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and best friend. He cared deeply about his friends and his relationship with people. In his free time, Samuel enjoyed socializing with his friends and family; he was intentional in how he spent time with them. Samuel loved traveling, fishing, hunting and listening to music. He had a great sense of humor.
Samuel was an honorable and respectful Christian man. He was a man of great character, principles, and believed in the Lord. He was charismatic but a true force to be reckoned with. He was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
Samuel is survived by his loving wife, Shakena; children, Samiyah and Justin; parents, Foluke and Oluremi; siblings, Nike, Kemi, Tobi, Damilola, Toyosi, Toyin and Tolu; best friend/brother, Marc; three nieces and four nephews. He was deeply loved and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
