

Beloved husband and father, Tai-Chang Kao, passed away on January 07, 2021 at 11:33 pm. Affectionately known to family and friends as Paul, he died from complications of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) when he was diagnosed with this ailment in January 2017.
Paul was born on August 03, 1963 in Taipei, Taiwan. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering degree at Tunghai University in 1986. He pursued and accomplished his Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1991.
As the patriarch of his family, Paul was a very good provider and taught his sons the essence of discipline and time management. From the moment he and Maria started a family, they have instilled in them the importance of education and traditional family values.
Career-wise his dedication to his work is incomparable. He worked for the same company, ABB, for more than 15 years as a Senior Systems Engineer.
In his spare time, he enjoys keeping himself fit by running and bicycling. He likes photography, gardening, and fishing. He is also a proud, self-proclaimed DIY (do-it-yourselfer). Aside from watching DIY shows on TV and YouTube, he would frequent Home Depot to learn home improvement skills which he applied on their house since 1995.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Maria Teresita Kao. From this union, they have two sons, Ellry Martin and Nolan Chase. He is also survived by his father, Ming-Pan; sisters Sharon and Fang-chi; and a brother, Wei-Ming. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hsiu Chu Chen Kao, in 2000.
The funeral service will be held at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home located at 12555 South Kirkwood Road, Stafford, TX 77477. Visitation is on February 13, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. immediately followed by a religious service officiated by Pastor Dick Lee of Fort Bend Community Church.
