Theodore Glenn Reves (Ted to Texas friends, Teddy to Arkansas friends), age 79, was born March 22, 1947 in Judsonia, Arkansas. He passed from this world on May 12, 2026, at his residence in Sugar Land, Texas.
Ted graduated from Judsonia High School in 1965, and headed for Jonesboro, Arkansas to attend Arkansas State University. He completed a degree in Commercial Art from there in 1970. In 1971 he also completed the requirements for an Arkansas teaching certificate at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas and was hired for his first teaching position for the spring semester, 1972, in Augusta, Arkansas. There he met Wanda, and after a whirlwind romance, they married in August, 1972. They moved to Little Rock where he pursued various job opportunities until 1977, when they moved to Hays, Kansas for him to begin work on his graduate degree in the fine arts. He received his Master of Fine Arts from Fort Hays State University in June, 1979. They stayed in Kansas while Wanda also obtained her master’s degree, then moved to Houston, Texas where they remained for the rest of his life. Ted was passionate about his art and loved teaching children how to express themselves through art. He would never allow any of them to say “I can’t do that” about anything they tried. Among other interests, Ted earned his 2nd degree Black Belt from Houston Self Defense Martial Arts School. He was also an ardent cactophile (cactus lover) and spent many, many hours on the patio caring for the hundreds of plants that he has accumulated over the years. Ted and Wanda are founding members of Sugar Grove Church of Christ in Meadows Place, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Thelma Green Reves of Judsonia, Arkansas, uncles Norman Green of Houston and Nathaniel Harmon Green of North Little Rock, and his brother Albert Wayne Reves of Higginsville, Missouri. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wanda Reves and numerous cousins scattered across the country.
