Viola V. “Jiggie” Hester, 85, passed away August 31, 2020 surrounded by her family at home in Fulshear, TX. She was born in Alief, TX on March 15, 1935 to Cary and Sibble Herndon. Viola is preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings, and her grandson, Jared Sanchez. She is survived by her two sisters, Blanche Wilson and Margaret Ackors (Bill), husband of 67 years James Hester, Sr., daughter Melinda Sanchez (Joseph), sons James, Jr. (Thereze) and Ronnie (Melva), grandchildren Kris Carlton (Chad), Jasper Ortega, Jamie Thomas, Ashley Hester, Ryan Sanchez (Stevie), Garrett Hester, and Briana Kelton (Kyler), and great grandchildren Tristan and Ashlyn Thomas, Cole Carlton, McKenna Stroud, Olivia, Jackson, Jett, and Jace Sanchez, and Karsyn Kelton.

Visitation will be held at Simonton Community Church, 9703 FM 1489 Simonton, TX 77476 Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 10 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Interment will follow with graveside services at Simonton Community Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Viola’s memory to Simonton Community Church.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Kim Rodriguez for her loving care and devotion to “Ms. Jiggie” while in hospice care the past two months.

Melinda and Family,

My sincere condolences for your loss. She was a beautiful sweet woman, wife and mother. I can still remember all the weekends I spent at your house and that beautiful smile. Keep your memories in your heart and I’m sure Jarred is showing her off in heaven. Love ya ❤️

Sorry for being distant but you were always thought of Grandma...
