

San Diego CA. During his time in the Navy Joe was able to see Japan, a place he really enjoyed. In 1955, Joe met and married his first wife Peggy and moved to Long Beach CA. They had four children Debra, Suzanne, Craig (Buck) and Mike. Also, in 1955 was the start of a 36 year career with Shell Oil Co in Signal Hill, CA. The family relocated to Cypress, CA. Joe loved attending his kids sporting events and even coached the boys in Little League. In 1971, the family again relocated to Houston,TX.
Joe lived every day to the fullest and had a passion for the game of golf. Part of his pleasures were playing some of the most wonderful golf courses in the US. A dream fulfilled for Joe was attending the Masters Golf Tournament. (not once or twice but THREE times) In 1988, Joe met and married Colleen and after a few years moved to Sugar Land. Joe would say he was never leaving Sugar Land and he really never did. Joe and Colleen traveled to many places embellishing their time in each country or island. A second passion of Joe's was his red corvette. Everyone knew where Joe was all the time, just look for the red corvette.
Joe was a devout Catholic member of St Laurence Catholic Church Community. Joe was preceded in death by his first wife Peggy, his daughter Debra and his daughter-in-law Penny. Joe is survived by his wife of 25 years Colleen, daughter Suzanne Doubrava and husband Milton, son Craig (Buck) Goeser, son Mike Goeser and wife Donna, stepson Jim Schubert and wife Lydia, stepson Will Schubert and wife Donna and stepson Peter Schubert and wife Lori, grandchildren Cheryl Toler and husband Aaron, Chad Doubrava and wife Jennifer, Melissa Doubrava, Kevin Goeser, Cody Goeser, Nicholas Goeser, Randy Schubert and wife Suzanne, Sharon Schubert, Miles Schubert and Abby Schubert. Joe is also survived by his great grandchildren Micaela, Kaitlyn, Jacob, Samantha and Audrey. Joe will be sorely missed by other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be at Earthman’s Funeral Home in Stafford from 6-9pm with a Rosary starting at 6pm. The funeral will be at St. Laurence Catholic Church at 10am followed by a reception. A private family burial will be held at Memorial Oaks.
