Anna Mae Carter

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harold H. Carter Jr.; her sons, Jeffrey Carter and his wife, Cynthia Carter and Michael Carter and his wife, Jennifer Carter; her daughter, Julie Carter; her grandsons, C.J Thomas, Brandon Thomas, and Christian Mickelson; and her granddaughter, Monica Smallwood.

Anna will also be greatly missed by her sisters, Barbara Carper, Linda Gates, and Mary Anne Spinks; her brother, Willie Rankin; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Hazel Rankin; her brothers, Harry Lee Rankin Jr., Carl Lee Rankin, and Melvin Rankin; and her grandson, Zackery Smallwood.

Anna married Harold in 1964 at the age of 17. She was a supportive military wife for 28 years. She enjoyed doing diamond paintings and listening to Elvis Presley. But she loved nothing more than her family! She loved being a homemaker and caring for everyone.

A visitation will be held at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554, on June 28, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554, on June 28, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm.
