Rita, a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, was born on January 14, 1968, to Frederick and Barbara Corbin. She departed this life on April 13, 2026. It is with deep sorrow and enduring love that we remember this dynamic woman.
Rita graduated from North Stafford High School in 1986. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from George Mason University, Bachelor and Master of Biblical Studies from Frederick L. Ray Biblical Institute.
For the first few years she was a teacher at Elizabeth Vaughn Elementary School. She entered the federal government service with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1998 where she served 28 years in management positions.
The love of Rita’s life was her beautiful daughter, Jessica Terry. She eagerly ensured every opportunity to expose Jessica to many aspects and joys of culture and life. Her world evolved around Jessica in every capacity. She boldly drove her vehicles with University of Virgina and George Washington University stickers where Jessica had successfully attended and graduated with honors.
She started her Christian walk at Neabsco Baptist Church and later united with Mount Olive Baptist Church both in Woodbridge, Virginia. Rita loved cruising and being with family and friends. She was an avid reader who checked out multiple books at one time.
Rita will be deeply missed by her daughter, Jessica Terry; parents, Frederick and Barbara Corbin; two sisters, Sharone Locke and Michele Bottoms; two brothers, Lance Corbin and Marcus Johnson; special Godchildren, Travis Bottoms and Keana Yates-Sticker; nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
Rita had a devoted and resolute friend in Chester Terry that the family will always be grateful for.
