Daniel Thomas Burton

Dan served in the United States Army. During his service, he spent time in Vietnam where he served as a Spec 5. After his return to the States, he was stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia and while on a weekend break, he met Sherry. They were married in 1971 and remained loyal to each other until his passing (52 years).

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Marguerite Burton of Vienna, Virginia and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry; one son, Michael (and wife Michelle); five grandchildren, Cheyenne, Brandon, Rebecca, Kayla, and Trinity; one great grandson, Lucas Daniel (due in January 2024); and his brother and sister-in-law, Rick & Pam Burton.

Dan enjoyed spending time with his family. It was a standing tradition to spend Thanksgiving with his brother and sister-in-law in Berryville, VA. His Christmases were dedicated to his grandchildren at his home. Dan enjoyed geocaching with his wife and would take the grandchildren on occasion.
