David Collyer

Dave was born October 24, 1937 in New Jersey to John and Marjorie Collyer. Dave married Mary in 1961 and moved to Lorton, VA in 1973 to raise their 4 children. Dave and Mary were married for 43 years before Mary passed in 2004.

Dave and Barbara married in 2017 and lived their life together in New Baltimore, VA. Together they enjoyed spending time at a church and sing in the church choir. They were married 5 years before Barbara passed in 2022.

Dave worked as a Medical Imaging Field Service Engineer for 48 years when he retired for the 2nd time in 2018.

Dave was an active member of the Mason Neck Lions Club for over 20 years and was a driver and lead tech for the sight and hearing van.

Dave enjoyed listening to Bluegrass and country music. He loved his time helping the community with his fellow Lions, woodworking, and spending time with his family.

Dave is survived by 3 of his children, daughter, Terri Shannon (Andy), and 2 sons, Bob Collyer (Nancy), and Darry Collyer (Brandi).

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Marjorie Collyer; brother, Curt Collyer; wives, Mary and Barbara Collyer and his son, Jim Collyer.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Lions of Mason Neck Lions-Lorton Charities, c/o Woody Woodard, 8417 Chillum Ct Springfield, VA. 22153.

A visitation for David will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554, followed by a celebration of life at 4:00 PM.
