

He was born to the late David William Sr. and Eliza Catherine Wirman. He graduated from Stafford High School in 1947 and married his high school sweetheart, Betty Ann Frazier in 1948.
He was a General Contractor who owned and operated Chameleon Company, Inc. for over 20 years in Alexandria. He was a member of Aquia Episcopal Church for over 50 years, during which he served as Junior Warden for several terms. David also spearheaded the complete renovation of Clifton Chapel (sister parish of Aquia) located in Widewater, including the replacement of a beautiful historical stained glass mural behind the altar. He retired in 1987 and has since worked on his farm and enjoyed his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty; two sons, David Phillip Wirman and wife, Polly of Silver Spring, MD and Larry William Wirman and wife, Karen of Stafford County; three daughters, Channele Marie Wirman of Keedysville, MD, Catherine Anne Wirman Rowan and husband, Chuck of King George, and Deidre Lynn Wirman of Stafford; brother, John Layton Wirman of Stafford; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Lee Wirman; brother, Nelson Rose Wirman; sister, Lydia Wirman Darron; and great granddaughter Brianna Haley.
The family will receive friends and family at David and Betty’s residence, 516 Joshua Rd., Stafford, VA 22556 on Saturday and Sunday, June 16 and 17 from 12:00-5:00 PM. A service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Aquia Episcopal Church at 11:00, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made in his name to Aquia Episcopal Church Building Fund.
