From the very beginning, he possessed a heart that was larger than life, a heart that would grow to love deeply, protect fiercely, and leave an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

On July 13, 2026, DeAndre’s earthly journey came to an unexpected end. While our hearts struggle to understand his absence, we find comfort in knowing that a life so generously lived leaves behind a legacy that time can never erase.

Above every title he held, DeAndre was most proud to be a father. His greatest joy was found in his children. He loved fiercely, protected without hesitation, encouraged endlessly, and made sure each of them knew they were deeply loved. His greatest accomplishment was the family he built alongside the love of his life, Krystal, with whom he shared nearly 21 years of unwavering love, friendship, and partnership. Together they created a home rooted in love, laughter, resilience, and unforgettable memories.

To know DeAndre was to know compassion. He possessed one of the biggest hearts imaginable and never hesitated to help someone in need. Whether offering advice, making someone laugh during a difficult moment, or simply showing up when it mattered most, he lived a life poured out for others. His kindness, loyalty, and authenticity made everyone around him feel seen, valued, and loved.

His life was a living reminder that strength and gentleness can coexist. That a man can be a protector, a provider, a fierce competitor, and still possess one of the kindest hearts you could ever encounter.

DeAndre’s personality was larger than life. If you knew him, you knew exactly where his sports loyalties stood. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan through every season and proudly cheered on the Los Angeles Lakers, celebrating every victory and passionately debating every loss. His love for boxing was unmatched, and he could spend hours breaking down fights or rap battles with anyone willing to join the conversation. He never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for making people feel like family.

Above all else, family was everything to DeAndre. He treasured every gathering, every conversation, every hug, and every opportunity to simply be surrounded by the people he loved. His greatest wealth was never measured by possessions but by the relationships he built and the lives he touched.

DeAndre leaves to cherish his precious memory his devoted love of nearly 21 years, Krystal; his beloved children, Kobe, De’Marcus, Dezmond, and Kamira; his loving mother, Deirdre Collins; four brothers, Julius Cunningham of Stafford, Virginia, Dionecio “Sean” Woolen and Malik El Shabazz both of Paducah, Kentucky and Tiant Young of Mansfield, Texas; one sister, April Williams of Paducah, Kentucky; his uncles, Keith (Terri) Collins of Dale City, Virginia, Stephon (Kathy) Collins of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Willie L. Jones and Vincent (Pam) Cunningham, both of Paducah, Kentucky; his aunt, Pearl Jones of Paducah, Kentucky; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who were blessed to know and love him.

He was preceded in death by his father, James “Man” Cunningham; his paternal grandparents, Vincent A. Cunningham and Leslie Mae Jones Cunningham; and his maternal grandparents, Alice Bryant Coleman and Rufus Collins.

A Celebration of Life honoring DeAndre Cunningham will be held at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service – Stafford Chapel, 186 Shelton Shop Road. Stafford, Virginia 22554 on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 12:00pm-2:00pm.

In accordance with DeAndre’s wishes, cremation will take place following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made directly to Krystal and their children. Your generosity, prayers, and continued support have been deeply appreciated and will help honor DeAndre’s greatest legacy, his family.

There are some people whose presence fills every room they enter. DeAndre was one of those people.
