She was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina on February 6, 1947. Dianne was raised by her mother Fairlinue Brinson (Deceased), and with the help of her grandmother Beatrice Brinson (Deceased), and Fletcher Brinson (Deceased). She had no siblings but was raised alongside her cousin Bernard Brinson (Deceased).
Dianne graduated from Georgetown High School in Jacksonville, NC and went on to attend a local community college. She would later move to Virginia and marry the love of her life, the late Alphonso Arnold, Sr., to which they remained married 50+ years until widowed in late 2023. Mrs. Arnold is survived by her son, Alphonso Arnold, Jr. (age 42) and her precious granddaughter, Cherish Leilani Arnold (age 7), both who loved and cared for her at home until hospitalized this February 2024.
In the 1980's and 90's Mrs. Arnold made a career as a secretary for the IRS, and did administrative work at various consulting firms, the last being Pricewaterhouse Coopers (then called Pricewaterhouse). While working was fulfilling, nothing brought her more joy than being a wife and mother. Often taking time off from work, Mrs. Arnold became known as a regular at her son's early childhood school field trips.
Serving her family was her life, and there is something to be said for the selfless love and devotion of a wife and/or mother operating in that gift and purpose, unashamed, and who does not take lightly the season and responsibility they have been given. This same motherly love spilled over into her ministry work as she helped many with rebirth and giving their lives to the Lord alongside her husband.
To you Dianne a crown is bestowed. You didn't have to be anything more, but you were the greatest, simply by embracing and accepting the least in order that your family would have the most. You will be forever loved and forever missed, but the impact on those you served, and the lives you touched, will be forever remembered.
She lived meaningfully and purposely, fulfilling her calling and duty on this Earth, and will be sure to hear:
"Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord" [Matthew 25:21].
The immediate household of Mrs. Arnold has asked not to have a funeral or memorial service, and would like for everyone not to mourn her, but to be encouraged and rejoice because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord [2 Corinthians 5:8]. We are certain she is alive and well in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen!
