He was born on September 4,1950 in Washington, DC.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Tucker; 6 children and their spouses - Angela and Bjorn Thorpe, Okley “Bo” and Jamie Taylor, Terry Winfield, Donnie Tucker, and Donald Jr. “Tuck” and Marcella Tucker; 18 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and many, many, many more family and friends.
He went by many names: Butch, “Honey”, Dad, Son, Brother, Uncle, and PawPaw. He lived a good life surrounded by his family and friends whom he loved more than anything in the world. He especially loved the fishing trips with the “boys” and our annual “beach week” with the family where he spent lots of time with the grandkids making lots of memories.
Beth shares these final words of love to Butch:
“You may be gone from my sight, but you are never gone from my heart. I carry your heart with me, always and forever.
I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I think of you every day, and I will continue to do so for the rest of my life.
Though my husband may be gone, our love lives on. It is the light that guides me through the darkest days.
In my heart, you are still with me, guiding me, and giving me strength. The bond we shared can never be broken.
No matter where I go, or what I do, you are always with me. Your love lives on in my heart.
I am forever grateful for the time we had together. You made my life complete, and your memory brings me comfort every day.
I may not be able to see you or hold you, but I feel your presence with me, always. You are forever in my heart.
You were my rock, my confidant, and my best friend. Your memory will always be a source of strength and comfort for me.
The love we shared was a gift, and even though you are no longer here, that love will never fade. It will always remain in my heart.”
He may be gone from our sight, but he will never be forgotten. The family plans to host a celebration of life for him at a later date.
