

He started his military service in 1943 with the US Marine Corps until 1964. He was married to his beloved wife Rose Lavoie in 1950 for 57 years before she rose up to be with the Lord.
Besides being a devoted Husband, Father and Friend he faithfully served his country during WWII and the Korean War and stayed in the USMC until his retirement. He also served as a civil servant for the Department of Defense.
He was a lifetime honorary member of the American Legion Post 290 and a post longtime member of the Rod & Gun Club at Quantico, where he dedicated his time arranging many yearly celebration functions.
Edward is survived by his two sons, Bill Lavoie and wife Susan and Tom Lavoie and his wife Sara; two daughters, Mary Triplett and her husband Dale and Claire Lavoie Hammond and her husband Tom; eight grandchildren, Brandy Jennings, Tara Allen, Will Lavoie, Chris Triplett, Chase Lavoie, Madison Lavoie, Jason Triplett; three great grandchildren soon to be four.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 28 at 11:30 am at St William of York Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Quantico National Cemetery at 1:00pm where military honors will be provided by the US Marine Corp.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 27 from 6 to 8 pm at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel, where a prayer service will begin at 7:45 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edward's honor to the Alzheimer's Association @ act.alz.org or at the Alzheimer's Foundation @ www.alzfdn.org.
