Ted was born February 13, 1945 in Sugargrove, West VA to the late Walter Edwin Eckard and Beaulah Mae (Moats) Eckard.
Ted retired from Fort Belvoir after 25 years and retired from Commonwealth Lighting after 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. He was a quiet and humble man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and the mountains.
He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Kent; son-in-law, Gary Kent; and his two grandsons, Alexx and Jacob Kent.
He is also survived by his sisters, Shirley Lohr (June), Gloria Wood (David); his brother, Butch Eckard (Martha); his brother-in-law, Harold Cupp; several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Ann; his son, Harold Eckard; his brother, Bill Moats and his sister, Anna Cupp.
