Elisa was a childhood friend who was a beautiful, sweet, smart, genuine and fun-loving classmate. She was always cheerful and greeted everyone with a smile that welcomed anyone anytime. Although saddened to learn of her passing, I'm glad to see she grew into a stunningly beautiful woman who lived a full life, successful in many ways. My condolences to your family during this difficult time. May God rest your soul, amiga. Until we meet again. God bless.

I met Elisa shortly after she came to work at the Topographic Engineering Center in Alexandria, Virginia. She had just graduated from college and Virginia must have been a world apart from her native Texas. Elisa adapted well to her place of work and flourished. She was a dedicated professional, a hardworking team member and an effective team leader. Generally quiet, she let the good quality of her work speak loudly. I was especially proud of Elisa for the respect she commanded among her peers. To Mark, her parents and other family members: I am very sorry for your loss, thank you for sharing such a special person with us. You can be very proud of her contributions to national defense. Que en paz descanse Elisa.

Dear Mark Wilburn and Carmona González Family , it’s been very hard for me to face the fact that Elisa is no longer with us. To me Annie, Elisa was more than a cousin, she was my sister and best friend. I had the fortune to spend a lot of time with her since childhood. We even attended Texas A&I University together. Later on, when Elisa will come to Laredo TX. to visit my uncles , we will always find the time to spend a couple of days together . To my mom Josefina Carmona ,Elisa was like a daughter, and she always had a great place in her heart. My sister and brothers as well as my own family, will always remember Elisa as a very optimistic, grateful, sincere ,strong, responsable and lovable cousin. I forgot to mention that she was a great house wife, some times a little obsessed with cleaning, or all the time?
Mark, we truly appreciate the confidence, the joy and all the love you gave to our beautiful and loved Elisa, not only in these past months, but always. Mark Wilburn, and dear Carmona González Family, May God Bless you and confort you for the days to come.
My unforgettable Elisa, Rest in Pease!

My sincere condolences to Mark and the Carmona family. I had the privilege to work with Elisa for many years and I was her supervisor for a little over eight years (until my retirement in 2015). Elisa was one of my team leaders; she managed production of two major products for the Army – the Urban Tactical Planner (UTP) and the Engineering Route Study (ERS) – these are significant base products in support of strategic planning and urban mission requirements. Elisa managed these programs very succinctly and efficiently. She was always up to date on our technical workflow, our production software, production numbers, and for any reach-back requirements that came our way. She made my job much easier by handling most of the UTP and ERS production details…she did that very well. Also, if things were not right…she would let me know that too (it is never healthy to have someone that always states things are great…that’s not reality). Further, she was honest, had an excellent work ethic and she was very professional. She will be missed and we are all better to have been associated with her. May she rest in peace.

Elisa was always a big part of our family and she will be dearly missed. She was taken too soon but we are comforted knowing she is at peace now. She will always hold a place in our hearts forever.

For Mark you know we are always here for you. We promised both you and Elisa that we will stand by you through this tough time and beyond. You are also a part of our family and we are honored to be trusted with that task and we will see that through. We will always be here for you.

For Elisa's family please know that my mom looked at her like a daughter, I looked at her like a sister and my kids knew her as "Tia Elisa". We embraced her into our family and loved her like our own. For Elisa's Mom and Dad you raised an amazing daughter, for her brothers you had a one of a kind sister and for her aunts, uncles and cousins you had a great niece and cousin. We hope you find comfort in knowing she was greatly loved here in Virginia and we appreciate you sharing her with us. Much love to the family.

Our deepest condolences to all those grieving at this time.

All our love
Lisa and Patti

My dear, sweet, beautiful friend is our guardian angel now. You fought with all your might but in the end it was not good enough. Your body could not fight it any longer. Rest in peace now in our Lords beautiful garden. You were the best daughter, wife, sister and friend anyone could ever ask for and you will be missed by all who loved you. Mark, Mr & Mrs Carmona, Francisco, Mario, Aldo, Luis and Raul, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your loved one. May God wrap his arms around you during this difficult time and give you strength and comfort for the days ahead. To all her friends who cared for her, Thank You. Rest now my friend, I will truly miss you. Until we meet again. Diana
