

Flossie was born on July 11, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Bernard and Florence Cannon. She was raised in a devout Catholic household, where her faith became the foundation of her life. She married the love of her life, James Joseph Delaney II, and together they raised five children. Flossie proudly earned a degree in Nursing and found great purpose in her work. After her husband’s unexpected passing in 1989, she continued forward with strength, grace, and unwavering faith. Flossie was deeply devoted to her family. Warm, outgoing, and vibrantly social, she maintained a full calendar of friendships, gatherings, and activities, and was rarely without company or conversation.
She is survived by her four children, Maureen Carpenter, James Joseph Delaney III, Colleen Colandene, and Kathleen Sullivan, nineteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and son Patrick.
Visitation will be held on January 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., both at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in St Petersburg, Florida. Burial at Quantico National Cemetery will take place at 11:30am on January 9, 2026, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
