I knew SGT Glenn Miller back in the 1980's and early 1990's. He was certainly a no-slack sergeant in the 464th Medium Boat Company, Alexandria & Ft Belvoir, VA.  Glenn always had a 'Can Do' positive attitude and did not shy away from any mission. He exhibited savvy common sense and sage wisdom during several river cargo and numerous Joint Logistic Over The Shore (JLOTS )operations that I served with him over the years. He was the kind of sergeant you know you wanted on your team to get the mission done. He left his mission too early. I am grateful to have known him. Thank you Sergeant Miller for your service to your country and sharing your excellent camaraderie with your many military friends.

Glen Miller is and was the Man.  If something was needed Glen found a way to make it Happen.  Think I remember his 
Motto to this Day..
“If I can’t do it” ..    ”I’ll still do it“ 
Words that are far and Few..

I have such great memories of our times together with Glenn, Nancy and a very young Jonathan at Smith Mountain Lake.....memories I will cherish and take with me my lifetime! Great memories are the best gift anyone can give to another and our times with Glenn is definitely one of them. I am truly blessed to have known him!

I'll never forget 9/11. But on 9/12... The Coast Guard was calling for support. SGT Miller and his friends were listening to the radio calls and answered. They couldn't reach CPT D'Agostino, so they did the right thing. They fired up the "Mike-Boats" and sailed to assist in the protection of Washington DC. Of course in doing so, they technically mobilized the U. S. Army Reserve on American soil which, by the way, was a power only allowed the President, but it was the right thing to do. The chain of command almost lost their minds a few days later. But Miller did the right thing regardless. God bless him. He will be missed.


Glenn was a good Soldier and friend. He was an Outstanding  Vessel Master and a key asset to the US Army. He was a hell of a mechanic, also! Glenn’s smile and giving a hand to anyone who needed it, is what I will hold dear. He will be missed by so many who knew him in this life, myself most definitely included. 

Glenn was a caring man who will always have a special place in my heart.
My prayers will be for all the Miller brothers for this loss.

I remember on drill weekends Martin and Glenn would get myself and a couple others from the detachment on his boat. It didn't matter how many were on his crew, myself, Trinell and a couple others always got to sail. A true mentor, and friend.
