Glenn Warren Powell, 58 of Stafford passed away at VCU Medical Center on Sunday, July 26, 2020. He was born in Toledo, Ohio to the late, George W. Bowman and Margaret L. Powell.
He was survived by his loving wife, Ronda Powell; three sons, Glenn W. Powell II of Toledo, Ohio, Darius L. Powell, and Warren D. Powell; two sisters, Lauren (Jerome) Bell and Eileen (John) Belcher, both of Jacksonville, Florida, ; seven grandchildren, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, colleagues, and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Powell.
During his time on earth, Glenn fulfilled his dream of joining the United States Army. He faithfully and dutifully served his country for twenty years after which he retired in April 2002. Upon his retirement, he continued to serve as a Federal employee until his untimely departure.
He was affectionately known by family and close friends as “Monkey Hands” and during the last few years of his life as the “Grill Master”. You could always find him on Facebook every week, grilling something to making your mouth water.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel from 5-7:00 pm.
