

He was interested and loved learning biblical history, reading, African American military history. He loved cars, especially old school classics. He loved socializing with those he came in contact with. Everyone he came in contact with was truly a friend. Though he was tall in stature he never looked down on anyone. He was into learning about health and natural remedies for the human body. He loved furthering education and encouraged others to go as far as they could. He loved Jesus Christ and ministering with others when he had the chance. He enjoyed serving in different ministries when he was able. He loved and was always dedicated to his family, distant relatives, friends, as well as old comrades.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn of 33 years, 2 daughters Nina Underdue & Lauren McCray. 2 sons Gordon V. McCray III & Joshua McCray, 2 grandchildren Nina & Jeremiah, 1 brother Eugene and 1 sister Regina both of Tampa FL. He also leaves behind close family, Aunt Ruth Drayton in New York, Aunt May Francis Newson in Florida, and Cousin Audie Hudnell in Maryland.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Arsie Lee McCray and sister Eunice May McCray.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel at 11:00 am, with the family to receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
