Mr. Schofield was born in Alexandria, Va. on November 2, 1948 to Hugh and Ann Schofield.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Jeanita Schofield.
Mr. Schofield was employed as a corrections officer at the Lorton Correctional Facility and served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam war.
He is survived by a daughter, Donya D. Schofield; son, Keith Schofield and wife Melanie; three sisters, Linda Cleveland, Beverly Hicks and Sally Menafee; six grandchildren, Kevin E. Coates, Taylor M. Schofield, Nathaniel S. Schofield, Keith M. Schofield II, Dylan C. G. Schofield and Jordon R. Schofield.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 7 from 7-9 pm at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel 186 Shelton Shop Road. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, March 8 at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
