

James, also known as Jimmy or Jim, departed this life peacefully surrounded by family on December 20, 2025.
Following college, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country for 26 years. After retiring from the Air Force, Jim went to work with USPA & IRA before turning his attention to assisting developmentally challenged students for the state of Illinois.
In July 1966, he married the love of his life, Peggy D. Turner in Las Vegas, Nevada. Along with his wife Peggy, Jim is survived by daughters, Sheri Collins (Kenneth) and Teri Price (William); grandchildren, Kiana Collins, Kenneth Collins, Jr., Mikayla Price, Jordan Price; siblings, Robert A. Brown (Helen), Sr.; Larry P. Brown, Sr. (Beverly); and Dorothy ‘Dottie’ M. Morris (James); as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Jim’s fun-loving nature and genuine spirit will be truly missed by family and friends.
The family will honor Jim with a Celebration of Life on January 24, 2026, with a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. and a celebration immediately following at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, Virginia 22554. A private family interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.
