James is survived by his wife, Dianna Edwards; his father, James “Bud” Edwards; his sons, Johnny Cook (Nicole), Jimmy Edwards (Crystal Fanton), Jeremy Edwards (Harley); and his daughter, Tabatha Jackson (David).

He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Elizabeth Tasker, Fayth Cook, Brent Edwards, Chase Jackson, Tanner Cook, Triston Edwards, Blake Jackson, Avery Edwards, Noah Edwards, Owen Fanton, and Ethan Fanton; his great grandchildren, Jaxson Fanton and Ethan Fanton Jr. and one great grandbaby on the way, Eileen Maye Witt; his siter, Melissa Edwards; and his brother, Chris Edwards.

Visitation will be held at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554, on May 20, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and also at Mullins & Thompson Funeral service, 186 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, VA 22554, US, on May 20, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
