He was preceded in death by his father, William D. Weston; his mother, Eunice (Nicely) Weston; and his beloved wife, Anna Mae (Perry) Weston.
Mr. Weston pursued several careers during his life, including a stint in the Air Force as a mechanic, but he was much better defined by his hobbies. He relished weekend dinners with family and friends, was an avid card player, and enjoyed woodworking.
Jim loved watching sports of all kinds. He bled Burgundy and Gold, wouldn’t miss a Caps or Braves game on TV, and cheered for every University of Maryland team.
His greatest enjoyment in sports came as a youth football coach. For more than 20 years, Jim Weston taught the fundamentals of his favorite sport, along with basic instructions for life, to kids in the Springfield and Stafford, VA communities. He never tired of retelling stories of blocked punts or pants held up with tape or kids who exceeded expectations to anyone willing to listen.
