Jerlene Bailey

Jerlene Bailey, age 69, of Reedville Va, formally of Stafford VA, passed away September 6, 2026, at Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital after a prolonged illness. She passed away surrounded by her husband and daughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; parents in-law and several siblings.

Jerlene is survived by her husband, Aubrey R. Bailey III, of the home; her daughter, Michelle and her family and her daughter, Jennifer and her family.

Jerlene worked for the State Department in her early life until she started working for the United States Postal Service in the early 80’s. This job allowed her to do something she truly loved which was talk with and meet people. She loved people and never met a stranger.

Until her health started to really decline, she also enjoyed going to casinos and on cruises. It didn’t really matter where she went as long as it wasn’t cold. Cruising allowed her to also meet new people, several of which became friends. She always looked forward to the next trip.

Jerlene’s most favorite things in life were really her family. Although she only had daughters, she was blessed to have three grandsons who she loved tremendously. Undoubtedly, they will miss her so much but they will always carry her love with them.

Jerlene requested not to have a funeral service. The family requests that you honor her memory by just being kind. Do something nice for someone like she would have done.

Mullins and Thompson, Stafford, has been entrusted with her care.
