Born August 23, 1953 in Quantico, Virginia to William and Aileen Campbell. He is survived by his mother, Aileen; brothers, Ken and George; and sisters Suzanne and Kathy. He is also an uncle to many nieces and nephews.
John lived his life to the fullest in numerous ways. A few of his hobbies include National Parks, NASA, and Disney. John would travel to Leeslyvania State Park during the week to enjoy his time with nature. This stemmed from the affection of National Parks. He was associated with the National Parks Foundation and would talk about wanting to travel around the United States often. NASA was another one of his fascinations. He would watch the Discovery Channel, read books, and keep up with the latest of what was happening in NASA. To him, it was another escape of true imagination and insight into the world we live in. Disney would be the most important fact to know about John. It was his pride and joy to be well versed and knowledgeable about the different topics that came out of Disney. When he could, he would take trips down to Disney World, explore the makings of what Disney was, and shine bright in conversations when speaking about the subject. Lastly, the embrace of his Scottish and Irish heritage was a staple in the family and to him. John was prideful and honored to be a part of the Campbell Clan. He would yearly partake in the Virginia Scottish Games. John retired in 2018 from INOVA Health Systems, Technical Dynamics (TDI) as a Biomedical Engineer Specialist. John is now met with his father, William, in heaven, still, he was truly loved and will be deeply missed.
Services will be held on Sunday, September 19th at 4 pm at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Services, 186 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, Virginia.
