He is survived by his wife, Larysa Tomlin; his children Mary Anne Tomlin Andrews and John Randolph Tomlin, Jr.; his brothers Charles Tomlin and James Tomlin; his sisters-in-law Susann Baer and Sally Tomlin; his nephew Eric Baer; his nieces Jen Correll, Kelly Tomlin Stuck and Amy Tomlin Paner; his grandchildren Evelyn Agnes Andrews and Randolph Jacob Tomlin; his grand nieces and nephews and many friends and admirers.
John was preceded in death by his first wife Jacqueline Lee Baer Tomlin and his parents Carl W. Tomlin and Virginia Jones Tomlin.
After graduating from Northern Arizona University, John’s natural affability led him to enjoy a highly-successful sales career. He sold almost anything (legal) from tires to satellite dishes to office supplies and he set an example to his children of how to treat others respectfully. A true gentleman, he engendered a pleasant atmosphere at any gathering. He was involved with the Freemasons, Boy Scout Troop 840 and the Aquia Creek Corvette Club and he was a founding member of Summit Presbyterian Church.
John will be remembered as an authentic sweetheart, a devoted husband and father, one of “them Tomlin boys,” a humorist and the possessor of the twinkliest blue eyes east of Interstate 95.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, April 11, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home Stafford Chapel 186 Shelton Shop Rd. A memorial service will be held at Summit Presbyterian Church at 1030 am on Saturday, April 12.
