In the wake of the transition of our dear brother and friend, Kendal Rivers; as we grieve, we find rest in knowing, Kendal lived a solid testimony and relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Kendal has made it home with God and his mother. Kendal had a heart for the youth and was a major influence in the lives of his five nephews and two nieces, KJ and Kyrie Rivers, Darian Wilhoit, Aaron Holtzclaw, Keovani Rivers, and Khloe and Kennedy Rivers. It was his focus to love and support his nieces and nephews as they grew into men and women of integrity and valor.
To honor Kendal’s legacy, a few of his friends have decided to start a scholarship fund for the purpose of collecting monetary donations which will aid in supporting his nieces and nephews as they continue their education. Our initial goal is to raise at least $1000 per child which will be used for college or higher education. If you would like to make a donation of any value, please Cashapp Samantha Cain at $SLJCain or Jordan Smith at $Capsmitt61. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Samantha at (804)436-7633 or Jordan at (757) 277-5017. Together, we will get through this. May we all continue to make Jesus Christ the center of our lives.

Kendal was a sweetheart and I still cannot accept that he is not with us . He had so much planned . We had multiple conversations about how much he wanted to be a dad, how he wanted to become an entrepreneur and so much more . He was such a family man, always supporting his nieces and nephews , brother and dad . A friend introduced us over a year ago and we clicked so well and became quick friends . I wanted so much to see him succeed and was so excited to see it happen. This hurts , I know he is at peace and resting with Jesus. Prayers for his family and close friends . Rest In Peace sweet friend . I’m honored to have met you and developed a friendship with you.

My heartfelt prayers and condolences to the Rivers family. May the peace and the strength of God comfort your hearts. Kendal and Kenny grew up with my sons in Summerwood, and I will always cherish the memories of him stopping by to play basketball in front of my home with the neighborhood kids. Remembering how his Mom taught him to Love God, and seeing how he became a trailblazer for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, winning souls for the Kingdom is priceless. Always a respectful, kind young man with a big smile. You finished your course and now you are at home with Father. Never forgotten. R.I.H Kendal

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the summers spent running around together when we were kids: it is definitely a staple memory of my childhood visiting my favorite cousins down south...and whenever I think of you (and it was always often) I remember that sweet, adorable little kid with the biggest brightest smile and the kindest soul...then we grew up, life took us very different places but the love was always there. I will treasure our memories forever. You were a blessed touch to every life you came into contact with and you leave behind a legacy that will endure to the end of time. I love you, Kendal. I wish I had one more moment to be able to say it to you for you to hear.

I will miss Kendal. He always was excited to talk about sports at work. He was always so thoughtful and never complained about anything. May God provide comfort and strength to his family and friends through this difficult time.

Going into my senior season in 2017 at Stafford High School we received a gift; a mentor, leader, and new defensive line coach in Kendal Rivers. Coach helped us develop the skill to our game to a point that opened up greater opportunities for us as players to develop and go to the next level. Coach taught me that even though you may be smaller than your opponent in the trenches, it doesn’t have to be your disadvantage but can be your advantage. For me, this translated into more speed and finesse used in my game. I had the tools to handle any 250lb+ lineman in my way and coach showed me how to use these tools. Coach taught me that not only on the field but in LIFE you can conquer whatever it is you put your mind and effort into. YOU ARE NEVER OUT OF THE FIGHT. Even though his life ended too soon, I believe in my heart coach finished his job on earth by touching so many young lives in a positive way. I will always remember what Coach Rivers did for me as a young man. We love you and you will be missed. Rest in Heaven Coach Rivers 🖤🕊

Kendal was truly a blessed soul and touched so many lives. I remember meeting him at CNU and without hesitation he would share meals, help me with homework, and always quick to give you a prayer in real time! My favorite memory is the time he helped me prep for the school play. For some reason I couldn’t remember one specific line no matter how long I practiced. The night of the show, I saw him saying the line so I could remember. My time at CNU would not have been the same without his friendship. That’s how he truly was a selfless soul and he will be missed by the entire CNU family!

I will always remember you for your spiritual encouragement shared with us all. So wise and purpose driven at such a young age. God placed you here to help those on the wrong path to get back on the right one, especially this younger generation. I’ll be sure to keep our fire burning for “BIG BLUE “ and will always think of you Our dear, sweet cousin

We love you as big as the sky Kendal. I’ll never understand why God took such an amazing young man so early in life. I know you’d tell me to trust in God’s plan and we will do our best. May you hug your mom tight in heaven and play some football with Dominic for me. Thank you for being such an amazing role model and big brother to Tabyas. We will miss you at family dinners and life celebrations. You will forever live in our hearts.
