I am saddened to hear about Kent. I served with  Kent at HMX-1 in Avionics. Semper Fi Kent!

SSGT Smolen enlisted me in the USMC NOT ONCE BUT TWICE!! Out of the Norwood Mass Station! He was always honest & forthright ... it breaks my heart I didn’t get to see him as we discussed maybe meeting along one of his trips!

     Very kind and friendly man.  It seems like last month I just saw you guys. On the base stood and talked almost an hour. It was good to see you and catch up with you.  So much has happened in our lives.  Sue I will pray your strength, and for your family. First met Kent in 1998. 

I went through high school with Kent, and will always remember him as a good friend, who was always kind to everyone.  He will be sadly missed.

My sympathy and prayers to Susan and his family.


Thank you for all the memories. I am so happy to have been able to visit you and aunt Sue in New Orleans. Going through all the family memories, photo albums and learning about family history will always be my favorite memory. We will miss you. Love you so much 💗
