Lawrence Paul “Mack” McCranie passed away on Wednesday 26th of May at his home in Stafford, Virginia.
He was born on June 2, 1944 in Bayonne, New Jersey to Woodrow Wilson McCranie and Florence Trudeau.
He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1989. He saw combat during the Vietnam War and was also shot at by poachers while serving as the Game Warden in Cherry Point, North Carolina.
After the Marine Corps, he worked as a Hazardous Materials Specialist at Quantico, Virginia from 1990 to 2010. He spent his remaining days with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter Maria Jeanne Ulmer and son Michael Anthony McCranie. His grandchildren Vernon, Amber and Eric Ulmer. His sister Margaret Miller and brother George McCranie. He was divorced from his wife Bonita Ann McCranie but his love for her was enduring.
A visitation for Mack will be held from 5:00pm-6:00pm on Saturday, June 5, 2021at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel. A Celebration of life will follow and include Military Honors.
