

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Colonel Phillip R. Hemming USMC (Ret.); two sons, Mr. Brian P. Hemming and his wife, Erin, and grandson, Owen of Woodberry Forest, VA and Major Lee W. Hemming USMC and his wife, Claire, and granddaughter Liza of Stafford, VA. She also leaves behind one sister, Janet K. Smith and her husband Skip Smith of Mobile, AL and nephew, Adam Nason and his wife Katherine of Dallas, TX as well as her ever faithful companion, Carter Dog.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Vivian Kurth and stepmother, Anacile Riggs Kurth.
She was born in Denver, CO and received a Bachelor's Degree in Education K-12 at Florida State University and a Master's Degree in Library Science at Auburn University. She taught school in Pensacola, FL and most recently was the Media Specialist at Burrows Elementary School, Quantico, VA for 19 years.
Linda was a longtime member of Aquia Episcopal Church, Stafford, VA, serving on the Vestry, Altar Guild, and as chairman of the Flower Guild for many years.
Services will be held Thursday, June 6 at 10:30 am at Aquia Episcopal Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aquia Episcopal Church Building Fund, 2938 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Stafford, VA 22554.
