Born on October 18, 1931, in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Carmen was the beloved daughter of the late Calixto de Jesus Lainez Machado and Beatriz Amalia Ramos Ramos.
Affectionately known as Zita, Mona, Mujer, and Grandma, Carmen was a free-spirited, warm, and gregarious woman who embraced life with joy. Following the passing of her husband, she lived with her mother in Honduras. After her mother's death, she moved to Germany to live with her daughter and her family, where she became an integral part of their lives. Carmen lovingly helped raise her two grandchildren and later shared in the lives of her great-grandchildren. Throughout the years, she also spent extended visits with her sons and their families, strengthening family bonds, passing on her love and wisdom.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carlos Rodolfo Delgado Castro; her son, Carlos R. Delgado; her sister, Gloria Velez; and her brother, Rafael Lainez Ramos.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Carmen M. Delgado-Mosler; Fernando C. Delgado and his wife, Regina P. Suarez; and Julio A. Delgado and his wife, Tammy J. Delgado. She also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren, and many cherished great-grandchildren.
