Marie was born in Philadelphia on April 5, 1931, to John and Mary Hamer Scanlon.
In her final years, Marie was closely associated with St. Anthony's Catholic Church and enjoyed her friends at the parish as well as on the staff of Heritage Hall.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Leonard H. Toy.
She is survived by a son, Leonard Toy; a daughter, Victoria Toy Deatherage; five grandchildren, Eric, Elise, Melissa, Richard and Thomas; and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at St. William Catholic Church in Stafford County. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
