Mary Ann Presti Lee was 83 years old when God decided to take her home on Tuesday evening, August 31, 2021. Born in Quantico, Virginia to Alfred Presti and Anna Kukrak Presti; the middle child Mary Ann had two brothers John and “Butch”.
Mary Ann’s career with the Department of Defense spanned over 30 years. She began as a secretary at the Quantico Marine Corps Base and retired as a senior Procurement Assistant for the U.S. Army Fort Belvoir. After retiring in 1990, Mary Ann, Maphis Cook her partner of 40 years, and her youngest daughter Mary Jo left the cold winters of Hartwood to enjoy the constant sun and warmth of Palm Bay, Florida.
In life, Mary Ann enjoyed an array of hobbies like NASCAR, singing and dancing to all kinds of music, quietly reading and doing word puzzles. She was most content collecting seashells on the beach or sitting quietly listening to the surf and the cry of seagulls.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughters, Edie, Wanda, Cheryl, Lisa and Mary Jo; 4 sons-in-law, 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother, a good friend, and a dedicated caregiver. We miss her even as we celebrate her entry into Heaven; we will hold her in our hearts always.
The family is extremely grateful to the caring, compassionate, and professional doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Frances Reflections Lifestage Care, Viera Health and Rehabilitation Center, and One Senior Place in Melbourne, Florida.
