

He was born on April 8, 1966, in Falls Church, VA, the son of George William Pickeral and the late Barbara E. (Thornton) Pickeral.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara E. Pickeral and sister, Judy Nichols.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Deborah Pickeral of Stafford, VA; one son, Seth Pickeral of Stafford, VA; one daughter, Brooke Pickeral of Blacksburg, VA; his father, George W. Pickeral of Virginia Beach, VA, and one sister, Vicky Hays of Alexandria, VA. He had many family and friends who loved and adored him, to include 21 nieces and nephews, many cousins, and friends over his life.
He loved his family and was so proud of all their accomplishments. He was dedicated to loving his dad and talked to him every single day at 6:30. He would brag to everyone who would listen about his son who got a job working in land surveying at Bowman Consulting Group, and his daughter who is attending Virginia Tech pursuing Music Education as a trumpet player.
Mike started his career as an auto mechanic at the Car Doctor in Falls Church, VA. He continued his mechanical expertise at FedEx, where he maintained the quality of their trucks. In 2000, he made a career change into internet engineering, working at Verizon for 22 years.
Mike loved dirt bike riding, watching motorcross and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He also adored going out on his boat and riding the waves of the river every chance he could.
For years, Mike took his family to the Outer Banks to enjoy a week at the beach. This was his favorite – to sit in his chair with a cold Miller Lite and watch the waves cascade onto the shore.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford, VA. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, March 20, 2024, with Pastor Jon Morton officiating. Interment will follow at Stafford Memorial Park.
