Nancy Edmonds Maine, 76, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, in Stafford, Virginia. Born on November 13, 1948, in Virginia, Nancy lived a vibrant and hardworking life filled with love for her family and a deep commitment to every role she embraced.
Her professional journey reflected both resilience and versatility. In the 1970s, Nancy began working at the FBI Academy cafeteria, marking the start of a long career grounded in dedication. She went on to serve as a store manager at High's, later transitioning into administrative work as an accounts payable clerk at Dynatech. Nancy also excelled as an electronics assembler at Metropole Products, proudly earning NASA certification for soldering. In later years, she brought warmth and joy to students through her work in school cafeterias. She was full of energy and preferred keeping busy. As a result, she held part-time roles at Walmart, CVS, and Weis alongside her full-time positions.
Nancy found joy in a wide array of interests that reflected her vibrant spirit. She had a passion for collecting old money and Native American decor and dolls. Jigsaw puzzles captivated her attention until every piece was perfectly placed. She delighted in family trips and spontaneous outings with friends. Church gatherings held special meaning for her, as did attending Native American Pow-wows and music events that filled her heart with happiness. Nancy also loved fishing.
Family remained the cornerstone of Nancy’s life. Her grandchildren—Matthew Marks (Kaitlin), Dana Morris (Chris), and Gracie Major—were sources of immense pride. She also cherished her great-grandchildren: Makylee Marks, Amber Morris, Brandon Morris, Jordan Marks, and Kaydan Marks. She lovingly embraced the role of bonus grandmother to Damon Major, Jessica Major, and Sarah Armstrong.
She carried in her heart the memory of her father Willie H. Edmonds; mother May Lola (McIntosh) Edmonds; all of her siblings; her son Robert Lewis Linkous Jr.; and grandsons Michael Marks and Cody Linkous.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 beginning at 1pm at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service in Stafford, Virginia.
