

She spent her early life as a devoted wife to a military man and raised four children. Later in life she had a successful working career as an Executive Assistant at the Air Force Memorial, Trane, and Virginia State Police. She was devoted to the Lord, loved her children, enjoyed music and playing the piano and painting.
She is survived by her children Sidi A. Mathews (Julie Fagan), Shawn Payne (Billy Payne), George B. Mathews III (Janet Raimondo), and Glen R. Mathews (Becky Mathews), 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel at 12:00 pm, with the family receiving friends and hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Stafford Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association
