Nancy Sue Thomasson

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents: Russell and Eleanore Maves of Crookston, MN.

She is survived by her loving husband James Thomasson. Nancy is also survived by her one daughter Tammy Thomasson-Ehrhart and one son Tim and wife Laura Thomasson; Grandchildren, Christopher Ehrhart and his partner Travis Keeler, Jessica Ehrhart, Anna Thomasson and Jack Thomasson. She also leaves behind one sister Cindy and husband Scott Hutchins: one brother Gary and wife Elaine Maves and many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

Nancy was a loving wife for 59 years. She was also a nurturing and compassionate matriarch to her children and grandchildren. Family was always her priority. Her deep love for family and friends was endless and always unconditional.

Nancy owned several gift shops throughout her lifetime offering a wide variety of American fine art, pottery, jewelry and handcrafts and was a recognized advocate of American Handcrafts. Several times she was recognized as such in National Trade magazines. Her last venture was The Recollections Gift Shop and the Inn at Maple Crossing on Maple Lake, which she owned and operated with her husband for over 24 years.

Nancy was a strong advocate and fundraiser for the Hospice of the Red River Valley. She was also a loyal member of the PEO Sisterhood.

Nancy had deep faith and trust in God which was nourished at the St. Lawrence parish in Mentor as well as with the Sisters at the Mount of Saint Benedict Chapel in Crookston. Nancy lived each day with joy, positivity and optimism trusting that she could be a beacon for others. Her Joy was truly contagious to those around her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in

Mentor, MN, at 2 p.m. with the Visitation one hour prior to the service. The Graveside service will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Calvary Cemetery in Crookston, MN
