
He was a US Navy veteran and in December of 1999 he retired from the Camp Barrett Heat Plant, after which he and his wife shared the job of delivering the Free Lance Star. He coached little league baseball and football for Stafford Parks and Rec. for 25 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy; two sons, Lee Kurucz of Washington D.C. and Rusty Kurucz and his wife, Chris of Stafford; daughter, Kim Failla and her husband, Sal of Chesterfield; Five grandchildren, Sarah, Nick, Sam, Callie, and Blain; brother, Gary Kurucz of Alexandria; sister, Ruth Lovett of Fredericksburg; uncle, Bud Strominger; four children he was very fond of, Brad and Matt Philpott and Rachel and Zachary Webb; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Ruth Kurucz; sister, Trudy Stevenson; and his in-laws, Alvin and Bertha Pritchett.
The family will be receiving friends at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 2- 4:00 PM.
