

Richard “Dick” Francis Durbin, 77, of Stafford County, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026, at Charter Senior Living of Fredericksburg surrounded by his family. He was born to Carl and Madeline Durbin on August 16, 1948, in Spangler, PA.
Richard’s greatest pride and joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He retired in 2007 from federal civilian service following a more than 40-year career with the Federal Aviation Administration, after which he was able to devote all his time to his family. Richard was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife Julie Durbin, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this month; grandson, Andrew Durbin and four unborn grandbabies; brother, Paul; sisters, Theresa Durbin, Josephine Hite, and Elaine Durbin; mother-in-law, Mary Ard; and special companion, Gwen Johnson.
Survivors include his nine children, Marianna Luck (Brandon), David Durbin (Heather), Melissa Wine, Michelle Bryant (Joshua), Melanie Loving (Cal), Jonathan Durbin (Samantha), Christopher Durbin (Svetlana), Kimberly Ryals (George), and Katie Laubach (Bobby Collins); grandchildren, Nathaniel Johnson, Michael Wine (Katie), Austin Laubach, Kayla Johnson, Bethany Luck, Tanna Durbin, Noah Bryant, Allison Laubach, Michael Durbin, Ryan Luck, Lilyana Bryant, Keith Wine, Thomas Durbin, Rebecca Loving, Madeline Wine, Claudia Loving, Lailah Durbin, Kent Bryant, Alana Ryals, Mikhail Durbin, Ethan Durbin, Tyler Ryals, Twila Ryals, Alexis Ryals; two great-grandchildren, Bennett Wine and Hope Howery; sisters, Mary Watt and Jeanette Adams; brothers, Jim, Pat, and Greg Durbin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Richard’s family would like to extend special thanks to all the amazing staff and residents at Charter Senior Living of Fredericksburg who were his second family over the past nine years.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 22, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford.
A mass of celebration will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Triangle. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fredericksburg.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Luck, Joshua Bryant, Cal Loving, George Ryals, Bobby Collins, and Nathaniel Johnson, along with honorary pallbearer Madeline Wine.
