He was born in Virginia on August 18, 1932 to Mercer and Edith Garrison.
In addition to his parents Richard is preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley Garrison.
He is survived by his son Richard Garrison Jr., two daughters, Pamela Clark and husband Mark and Christina Johnson, a brother William Spencer Garrison six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday January 6, 2014 at Sunset Memory Gardens at 11 am in the mausoleum chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
