

Robert E. Randall formerly of Port Richey, FL departed this life November 28, 2011, Fredericksburg, VA. Robert was born in the upper front bedroom at 2434 So.Linden Ave. in Alliance, OH, May 14, 1923, to Hiram Edward Randall, 37 and Jessie Adeline Phillips, 33. He met his wife to be Betty Jane Stewart, daughter of Darl Ardra Stewart and Florence Fern Fox at Taylor Aircraft in Alliance, OH. They were married, August 4, 1946, in Alliance. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary August 4, 2011.
Born and raised in Ohio, Robert joined the enlisted reserves September 1942. He served the last 12 months of the European war with the 95th Division in Central West Germany as a part of General George Patton’s 3rd Army. The G.I.Bill financed his BS and MS Degrees in Aeronautical Engineering at the University of CO. A scholarship funded a MS Degree in Engineering Management at Vanderbilt University. His engineering career was predominantly at the Arnold Engineering Development Center in Tullahoma, TN. In 1983 Robert retired and moved to central Florida.
Robert was an avid reader even up until his death. History was a favorite subject.
During the last year of his life he completed reading several large biographies of past presidents and other large volumes. Robert also wrote a book “Which Bible has no Errors” as his historical expertise was also in Biblical writings and interpretations.
Robert was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Marietta Marple, Reva Lillian Cannon, Jean Phillips Benson, and one brother Austin Randall. Also preceding him is a grandchild Richard Patrick McDonough, Richard’s wife, Rarit (Sarah) Retno and their son, Richard Arif McDonough. Surviving are his widow, Betty Jane, residing with their daughter, Judith Ann McDonough of Stafford, VA, John Robert Edward Randall of Greeley, CO, James Darl Randall of Portland, OR, and Jeanne Marie Wills of Tampa, FL, 8 grandchildren; Heather Leigh Quigley, Jennifer Colleen Wolfe, Jonathan Ryan McDonough, Sean Phillip McDonough, Jessica Eileen McDonough, Joshua Randall, Shira Rachel Wills, Alisa Lee Wills and 6 great grandchildren: Rebecca Leigh Quigley, Rachel Faith Quigley, Nicole Retno McDonough, Micah Samuel Quigley, Abigail Einnen Wolfe and Liam Richard Patrick Wolfe.
A service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford, with the family receiving friends an hour prior to the service. He will be interred in Quantico National Cemetery, Quantico, VA on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 12:00 PM.
