

Born on September 11, 1954, he lived most of his life in Alexandria, VA, before moving to Stafford in 2010. He was a Class of 1972 Graduate of TC Williams High School. A friend to all dogs and turtles, he spent many hours at the “dog park” in Marlborough Point playing fetch with all the neighborhood dogs.
He spent 45 years working as an electrician in the IBEW Local 26 of Washington, DC, retiring in 2017. In his downtime, Bobby was an avid Redskins fan, attending 22 years' worth of games at RFK Stadium, missing only two. He loved fishing, boating and sitting down and having a cold beer.
Bobby also devoted many years of dedicated service to the Old Dominion Boat Club. Holding positions on the Board of Governors and Vice President. Any opportunity to help with an electrical issue or to be in the kitchen he would volunteer his time - leading many annual member-run events like the Luau and Oyster Roast and weekend brunches. After relocating to Stafford, he shared his love for volunteer food prep with the Moose.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Valerie Whitestone, his daughter, Adrienne Whitestone, his son Paul Whitestone and his wife Katie, grandsons, Camden and Brooks, sister Marge McConnell and her husband Frank and many other family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. “Skip” Whitestone Jr. and Betty Whitestone.
In lieu of flowers, please support the charity of your choice. Bobby supported a number of organizations over the years, including the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and other children’s charities.
Multiple celebrations of life will be held in Stafford and Alexandria, dates and times to follow.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Stafford Eagles Lodge AERIE #4488, 2055 Richmond Hwy Suite 105, Stafford, VA, on June 19, 2026, from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Actual service will start promptly at 4:00pm.
