He always had his spot at Poopsies house. Aunt Susie got one of the good ones. I miss you already, Uncle Ron.

I had the privilege of working alongside Ron in the Technical Security Division in DC for several years. Ron was a serious guy, but every now and then that wit would come out, and when it did, you better be paying attention.

Ron was always the first one in the office. If you arrived early enough, chances were he had already tackled most of the problems that came up overnight. That was Ron...dependable, dedicated, and always looking out for the team.
If I got there early enough, we’d sometimes make one of our Starbucks runs. Those were some of the little moments I’ll remember most. Ron was always dropping some words of wisdom. You had to be ready to listen, because there was usually something worth hearing.

Ron was also a big-time family man. I know how much he loved and valued Susan and his family, and I’m glad he was able to enjoy his retirement with them. Otherwise, I would have loved to have him back...even if it was just part-time.

His departure from the Service left a hole, but his departure from this world has left an even bigger one.
My father passed away in 2021. I don’t know if Ron ever realized it, but in many ways, he helped fill a small part of the empty space my father left behind. That means more to me than I can probably put into words.

I’m grateful for the years we worked together, the laughs, the conversations, the Starbucks runs, and most of all, the friendship that continued long after retirement.

You did good, Ron… real good. Rest easy, my friend. May the great memories you gave all of us bring comfort to Susan, your family, your friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing you.

Ron was a gentle soul, he lighted up when talking about his family and he was proud of his accomplishments in his jobs. 
I loved hearing him talk about his adventures, when you could get him to talk, he was always standing on the sidelines but he was always listening. 
He was Susan's rock and Ami was daddy's girl. I know this breaks their heart as it does the whole family.
I don't think Ron knew a stranger, thank you for sharing such a wonderful person in our lives.

Reading the other condolences from fellow co-workers, I believe that Mr. Ron was ALWAYS Mr. Ron wherever he went. I too met him for the first time when he joined the MCDEAN ATFP Unit. A man with few words but a kind heart who stood firm in his beliefs. Working alongside him at Marine Corps Base Quantico, he was always thoughtful and deliberate with his actions. I admired his ethic and found that once you get past the quiet demeanor, and he deemed you worthy, you would get to see the real man he was. 
      He always led with quiet dignity, and would always shoulder the burden of mistakes by co-workers as his own. Mr. Ron never backed down from a task, regardless of whether he was familiar with it or not. Seeing that type of leadership was inspiring to many, myself included. Although sent to other locations, the Lord had our paths cross many times, which always brought me joy.
    Our last stop together career wise was in our Nations Capitol, working together from time to time, but when we would talk, it would be as though we had seen each other just the day before. You always had to listen carefully to what he said, as there was often humor mixed into important information, and your wit had to be sharp to catch the curve ball. I will miss that so, no one delivered it quite like Mr. Ron.
     My heart breaks for the loss of him to his family, and his “On the Job” family mourns for both. I will sorely miss you, Mr. Ron, I pray you are at peace and your family is in my prayers as well. There is a space in my heart kept just for you, I am a better human for having befriended you, and you will NEVER be forgotten. May God bless and keep you, and watch over your family.

During the time I worked alongside him, we became very close friends\. What started as a “teacher training and student” relationship eventually became a “go with Mr\. Ron because I think he needs a babysitter” relationship,lol\.

Somehow, Mr\. Ron would always end up with a small cut and a Band\-Aid on his arm before we even started working\. I would tell him, “I hope you know you don’t get to go home early just because you have a Band\-Aid on\.” Then we would both start laughing\.

Mr\. Ron taught me so much while we worked together, and I’m truly thankful for everything he shared with me\. I’m grateful for the time we spent together, the lessons he taught me, our daily meetups at Starbucks, and all the moments we spent working and joking around with each other\.

I’m truly saddened by this loss\. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched\. May the memories we shared bring comfort during this difficult time\.

I met Mr. Ron around 2009 and found him to be quiet until you get to know him. His sense of humor was unique at best, but definitely witty. Never a dull moment working or traveling with him. I will truly miss the "man, the myth, the legend" Ron Miles.

Condolences to the family.  Mr. Ron was truly a great person.  One of the first person to teach me the ropes in D.C. within TSD.  I always would get to work at 6:45am, but could never beat Mr. Ron to work.  He would always be at work with his Starbucks and already hard at work and give me a little grin or laugh.  One of a kind. He will truly be missed by many.
