Stephen T. Brown

Stephen Timothy Brown passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 4, after a courageous battle with cancer. His strength, steadiness and love of his family and friends defined a well loved and lived life.

Steve is preceded in death by his father William (Bill) Brown and father-in-law Lee Craw. He is survived by his wife of 30 years and love of his life, Demaris Brown, his daughters Analisa K. (David) Capote and Katelyn E. (Zachary) Russell, son Nicholas R. (Gabriella) Brown, his mother Jennifer Brown, his sister Julie Brown, and grandchildren Holden, Ramona, Henry and Claire. His much loved extended family includes his mother-in-law Kathy Craw, sisters-in-law Jennifer (Xavier) Uresti, Stephanie (Todd) Webb, nieces and nephews Owen, Aunyka, Aaron and Amy, aunts and uncles Kathy (Jim) LaMorte, Nick (Marilyn) Lea, Doug (Jean) Lea, Irene Williams, cousins Norm Lea, Tricia LaMorte, Jim (Dawn) LaMorte, Harris (Haley) Williams, Randy Lea, and Marty Lea.

Stephen grew up in Knoxville, TN attending Knoxville Catholic HS (’83) and Florida State University. There was much reminiscing about many of his beloved friends and their hilarious shenanigans. The memories and visits brought great joy in recent months.

He was proud to serve his country as a United States Marine for 7 years where he honed his skills of honor and duty. He spent 24 years as a computer systems engineer, 22 years in northern Virginia.

He loved coaching and cheering on his kids in various sports and passions throughout their younger years.

He also enjoyed reading, good music, watching college football (go Noles!), building computers, and woodworking. And of course, he would never turn down a good bourbon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Stephen’s honor.

A memorial will be held in the spring of 2022 in order to allow all members of Stephen’s immediate family to be present. Please view and sign the family guest book.
