

He leaves behind a legacy defined by devotion to family, integrity, and a lifetime of quiet strength. Steven has reunited with his beloved wife Linda Diane Sims and his cherished daughter Emeline Wagstaff, whose memory remained close to his heart throughout his life.
He is also reunited with his loving parents, John Archable Sims and Laura Leone Hodges, as well as his siblings Myrna, Verda, and Wayne, all of whom he held close in his heart throughout his life.
Steven is lovingly remembered by his children, Cindi Johnson and her husband Steve Johnson, Stacey Clark, Thomas Sims and his wife, Lynn Griffith, Sarah Sims, Katrina Brewer and her husband, Timothy Brewer, and Adam Sims and his wife, Mary Kate Sims.
He is also remembered with affection by Steve Wagstaff, the devoted husband of his late daughter Emeline, who has remained a treasured part of the family.
He leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, nieces, and nephews each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. His family continues to grow, carrying forward his legacy with every new life added to the generations he helped shape.
As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints, he found purpose, community, and strength in his beliefs. He served faithfully throughout his life, offering kindness, service, and steady leadership wherever he was needed. His commitment to the gospel shaped the way he loved, worked, and cared for others, and his example of humble discipleship will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Following his deep commitment to family, Steven dedicated 47 years of distinguished service to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). His career was marked by integrity, professionalism, and a profound sense of responsibility to the public he served. He took great pride in his work and the impact it had on the safety and well‑being of countless individuals.
Known for his corky humor, steady presence, and unwavering loyalty, Steven created a sense of home wherever he went. His wisdom and kindness were gifts to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always honored by the family and friends whose lives he touched.
The family invites all who knew and loved Steven to join them in celebrating his life and legacy. Visitation will be held at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554, on March 12, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A visitation will also be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 161 Eustace Rd., Stafford, Virginia 22556, on March 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.
Burial will take place at Stafford Memorial Park, 154 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, Virginia, on March 13, 2026
