Theresa shared 39 years of marriage with her husband, David Purk. For 21 of those years, she was a Marine Corps wife, supporting her husband and family throughout his service in the United States Marine Corps.
Above all else, Theresa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved spending time with the people she cared about and had a way of making those around her feel welcome. Theresa was outgoing and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. She genuinely loved people, and it was not unusual for someone who began as a stranger to quickly become a friend.
She had an enormous heart, not only for people but for animals as well. Theresa loved to cook and was known for making special dishes for her family. Her generosity extended beyond her own home. She often looked after her neighbors, especially elderly neighbors, bringing them meals and making sure they were cared for.
Theresa never forgot a birthday. She made a point of remembering the people she loved and making sure they felt special on their day. That was simply who she was, someone who noticed people, cared about them, and wanted them to know they mattered.
Theresa was the kind of person people were simply drawn to. Her family often joked that it was hard to imagine anyone not liking her, because her warmth, kindness, and easygoing nature made her someone people genuinely enjoyed being around. She will be remembered for her generosity, her humor, her love for others, and the way she could make friends wherever she went.
Theresa was preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve Gillispie; her father, James Manna; and her grandson, Jay Hunley.
Theresa leaves behind her husband, David Purk; her five children, Timothy Robertson, Jessica Purk and her husband John Craggs, Carrie Purk, Lisa Frazier and her husband Michael Frazier, and David Purk Jr. and his wife Roneth Purk; and her grandchildren, Gage Purk, Michael Frazier, Caden Robertson, Madelyn Frazier, Chloe Craggs, Levi Craggs, Mason Frazier, Cole Robertson, Tyler Robertson, and Theia Purk.
Theresa's life cannot be measured simply by the years she lived, but by the people she loved, the people she cared for, and the countless lives made a little better because she was part of them. Her family and friends will carry her memory, her stories, her kindness, and her love with them always.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
