The life of our beloved Tyshemia “Shema” Passioneak Robinson began on May 5, 1979 in Danville, VA to the late David J. Hairston and Juanita Hairston. She grew up and attended school in Martinsville, VA. She loved running track and graduated Salutatorian of her class before attending Virginia Tech for Management Science and Information Technology.
She continued to learn with excellence, graduating with distinction as Magna Cum Laude in her class. While at Virginia Tech, she left on a spring break trip with the love of her life. On the evening of March 10, 2000, she married, Tim Robinson on a beach in St. Augustine, Florida. No wedding party, no elaborate planning, no money; just a whole lot of adventure! Twenty-one years’ worth, to be specific.
With a love for information technology, she took a position as a software developer at Verizon in the Washington, DC area. They attended Harvest Life Changers Church where she sang on the praise team. Shortly after that, their adventure took them to Oceanside, California. She became a software quality assurance engineer at WebSense in San Diego. They attended Ambassador Family Church, where (you guessed it) she sang on the praise team! There she maintained the household and tirelessly supported her husband through many military combat deployments. Her next adventure took her to Monterey California where she worked in quality assurance at Verity, Incorporated. They attended Believers Church, International, where she sang on the praise team! This pattern continued, no matter where the adventure took Shema. She loved information technology, serving God, and singing.
Her next adventure was in Albany, Georgia where they purchased their first house and welcomed their first child, Timia. It was official, the Robinson family grew by one and motherhood was an adventure all to itself. Shortly after, Shema moved to Maryland, had another beautiful daughter, Tayla, and joined Victory Christian Ministries, International, of Suitland, Maryland where… she sang on the praise team!
Somewhere in all of this process, she attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and earned a Master’s Degree in Information Systems Technology. She added to that a certificate in Federal Executive Competencies. She joined the National Security Agency as a Digital Network Analyst to support her country’s mission. Her last adventure landed her in Stafford, Virginia working at Booz Allen Hamilton as a Data Scientist supporting the Federal Bureau of Investigation. They joined VCMI, Woodbridge where she…sang on the praise team!
On Tuesday, September 28th, Tyshemia departed this life surrounded by her family. She leaves behind cherished adventures with her husband, Tim and her daughters, Timia and Tayla of Stafford, VA.
